Hello all, thanks to Yolanda, Anthony's Mom, I am going to be posting the information on how to access the student math book online. There are sample problems and ones we have already worked on, but will help during nighttime homework as well as preparing for the test.
We have new books from the company Pearson, so please visit their homepage:
https://www.pearsonsuccessnet.com/snpapp/login/login.jsp
There you will notice that there is a button to REGISTER. Please click this.
It will ask for an access code: 4BDF233D78E231D3430
It will lead you to another page for you to create a user name and password, it will ask for a student ID, but this is not necessary to access the book.
After you register, you can log in and see the book.
The math test will be on Topic 3 Pages 50-67.
If you have trouble with the registration process, please e-mail me and I will do my best to help!
Thanks for the brilliant idea Yolanda!
Welcome to the 5th grade blog! This blog will keep you informed about current classroom information. Please make sure to check it regularly or subscribe to this blog so that you can stay updated!

Done with Testing and Back to School!!!
I am so thankful that we are finally done with all the testing. Thank you so much for making sure your students got plenty of sleep and were well fed.
There are some big upcoming activities in class that I want to remind all the students and their families about:
Fictional Narratives Final Draft is Due (without illustrations) Thursday October 6th.
Social Studies State Capital Research (not typed or written any specific way, unless their group decided) due Friday September 30th.
Math Test on Monday October 3rd on large number multiplication and exponents.
Also, regular spelling and vocabulary are beginning this week, so next week there will be both a spelling test and vocabulary test, on Wednesday and Thursday respectively.
The Sign of Beaver should be finished up by October 14th and then we will have a comprehension assessment about the book as well as groups will be working toward presenting their knowledge on the book.
Social Studies Test on Thursday October 6th (which we will be studying for during class time, however, can do some more outside class if necessary).
This may seem like a lot, but really it is very doable, especially since there will be ample class time given to complete/study for most of this!

Today, was a wonderful day. The Highlights of the day was working on our Religion Posters, learning how to Conduct in Music, and making Offices. Everyones' Religion Posters are coming out really good. Conducting in Music was very hard but, I think we got the hang of it. Offices are 2 file folders taped together that we use when we take tests. I'm looking forward to another wonderful day!

Happy Birthday to all those fabulous people born in the month of September! You are sharing it with some people near and dear to me! My Mom and Brother were both born during this month so I truly know how special September babies are!
We will be holding a class celebration on Friday September 30th from 12:00-12:40pm. It will begin a little before our regular lunch time and continue throughout lunch. If you would like to celebrate your students birthday for this month of September, please purchase a birthday book down at the office and then send me an e-mail letting me know what treat or drink you could provide for the class. I will post that on the blog so that we can try not to have repeats!
Thanks! Please e-mail me with further questions at lstevens@stthomasmoreschool.org
